"chemical bath" walls: wall II - Anne Campbell

Afternoon everyone,

this is the third part of "chemical bath" walls - presenting photograms by Scottish artist Anne Campbell.

These images have been created without the use of a camera, either through arranging different objects on light-sensitive paper and exposing them to light (first four images), or by using photographic chemicals instead (last three).

Some colours may be slightly different than the originals - 

which you can see in the photograms section of Anne's page.

exhibition plans update & "chemical bath" walls: wall I, part 2: Charles Guerin

Evening,

before our new exhibition, a solo show by Russian photographer Andrew Pershin, opens on Thursday the 29th of October (more info coming soon!), we'd like to show you some images of "chemical bath" walls - for those of you who couldn't make it to Bargoed.

Here is our second exhibition wall update - this time presenting photographs by French artist Charles Guerin.

Charles uses a variety of traditional and alternative techniques and "chemical bath" presented five of them - and seven images:

left to right: gumoil print and gum over kallitype

first image: cyanotype (toned)  

second and third image: wet plate collodion (ambrotype - collodion positive)

gum bichromate and cyanotype (toned)

"chemical bath" walls: wall I, part 1: Marianne Priest

Afternoon everyone,

even though "chemical bath" is over, we have some more updates - over the next few days, we're going to post images of the photographs as they were displayed on our gallery walls. 

We're starting with the left gallery wall and copies of lith prints by Marianne Priest, most of them hand-coloured - except the last 2.

 

 

We did our best, but some colours may differ from reality!
